Top three finishers in each weight in Class A, B, and C are automatic qualifiers. Fourth place finishers are alternates. MAWA reserves the right to add wrestlers in order to fill a weight class at our discretion.

Format: Eight man bracket with pigtail round (if necessary). Seeding will be done by MAWA seeding committee. Only board-certified referees will work the event.

This event meets MPA in-season guidelines. (You can coach your athletes through 2/20/09)

Tournament results will have no impact on New England seeding.

Weight classes: Four pound allowance (example 103 + 4 = 107) Wrestler must enter at weight class competed at in the state tournament (anyone overweight can’t move up).

Registration/Check in: 7:00-8:00am (Saturday, February 20th)
Weigh-in: 8:00am

Wrestle: 9:30 am (on three mats) Consi finals and Championship finals will be run concurrently on two mats

Entry fee: $15 per wrestler. Check payable to: MAWA
Bring entry fee and waiver form to the tournament.

Spectator admission: $5 for adults, $3 for students/children. All proceeds go to MAWA scholarship fund.

Awards: First through Fourth place medals for each weight class. Team awards for first and second. Two outstanding wrestler awards – light (103-140) and heavy (145-285) divisions.

Athletic trainer will be available. Coaches need to bring supplies for blood and minor injuries.

T-shirts will be on sale for $10 each. Shirts will NOT be discounted at end of day.

Concession stand will be open. Coolers are not allowed in gymnasium
